Future Now Reflection

After working on the Future Now project, I learned the importance of education. It was an interesting project to work on. More that 50 percent of public high school students drop out of school before their senior year. This video helps inform people of the importance of staying in school. Without the correct education any career goals are reachable. The video also helps realize that anything is possible through education, because in school you gain the tools and knowledge to handle yourself in the world. School not only makes you more knowledgeable in schoolwork, but also as a person. In school you learn many things like who you are as person. The high school experience is important in a persons life because it shapes their minds for the future.

NYC Digital Storybook

In a recent poll, taken by World Socialist, then average percentage of public high school students that graduate, is nearly 50 percent. More than half of high school students drop out because of lack of motivation, or because they just don't feel that learning is something that is important. If there's one thing I've learned from my parents, is the importance of school. They grew up in a country where not many people were given a chance at an education. My parents however were lucky and were able to go to school and went on to go to college, they now both are successfully working in the medical field. This proves that no matter how far or impossible you think something is, if you stick with it and learn everything that you need to, you can do anything. Education is something I value, without it we would not, and could not do anything. Getting your high school diploma is important for successful college career, which will eventually led to a better employment plan. Education is overall very important for many reason, such as - without education, we do not have the correct tools to function, or handle ourselves correctly in certain situations. Education is being able to put forward one's knowledge and using it to their fullest potential.

Digitales Rubric

I have evaluated three videos according to the Digitales Rubric. I watched a video called Costa Rica done by a woman named Laura. She had reached certain levels of the Graduate Profile. The video had proved to be connected to the world, and skilled for success in a global environment. The video proves that she has a sense for the environment and the world around her. Although, it was an exemplar video, it did not show Knowledge Required in the Global Era. It had not shown historical event or any of the sort. The story was an overall acceptable video, and would pass standards for the Graduate Profile.

Digital Story 1

This project was pretty easy. The assignment was to express yourself as a a person in the 21st century. For me, that was defined easily through my family and culture, things that I like, and the places I like to go. Other people may define themselves differently, but I find that these feature express who I am the most. Our task was to do so through media. I put together a slideshow with music to show how i define myself.
