My name is Aisha Balaquiot. I am a sixteen year old and I live in a urban neighborhood, in Staten Island, NY. The neighborhood i live in now has changed in many ways from how it was years ago. Staten island, NY has gone from being all farmland and plains, to urban. In society today, my family is part of the middle class. Middle class means that we don't have a lot of extravagant things, but we do live a nice, comfortable life. I come from a family that has, Filipino and French decendents. We are a big family and are very close. We constantly are spending weekends together, or going places as a family. Today, music is very important to me. I can't go a day without listening to music or playing a couple chords on an instrument. I think music defines who you are because it helps you express yourself in every way. Photography also means a lot. It gives me the ability to capture a moment and make people see it how i want them to. Photography can help express any emotion with out words. Traveling places also gives you a sense of who you are as a person. Everything effects you in the world, a simply interaction on the street with a stranger or a life changing event. Just like that, places you like to go define the person you are as well as the people you hang out with. From every corner of the world technology has changed and redefined communities. All these things have become a definition of myself as an individual.
